Leland Yee GTA Thanks You!

Once again California assemblyman Leland Yee is offering up some free publicity for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This time Yee is complaining about locked hidden sex scenes in the PC version of the game. He says that the game should have gotten an Adults Only AO rating rather than the Mature M rating. Now not to be confused by facts, but the scenes can only be accessed by downloading some files from someone other than publisher Rockstar and hacking the game! Children too young to play the game will most likely not be able to unlock the sexual content. So Yee’s efforts will in the end result in a few more sales for Rockstar. Way to go assemblyman!

Admittedly, I’m giving them some free publicity too, but at least I’m aware of it! 😉

Leland Yee, Jack Thompson, and Mrs. Clinton are all idiots. Everyone one in a place of power is corrupt or so it would seem. Corrupt or idiotic.

You know nothing about this issue. It is not just PC version and it is not done by hacking or an outsider. Rockstar created this crap.

It’s true that the Hot Coffee code is in the PS2 version as well. But the fact remains that significant effort is required to reach it, and the game still has an M rating and shouldn’t be in the hands of kids to begin with. Unfortunately, a lot of parents simply pay no attention to the ratings at all. As for why the code is there and not deleted, it is common practice in software development to simply comment out or bury using other directives, code that you don’t intend to use but on which there may be dependencies that you’ve forgotten about. In other words it may have been safer to leave the code there rather than break a bunch of stuff by ripping it out and missing the release date. After this, I’ll bet that’s going to change in a lot of shops! In any case, this has likely brought Rockstar more sales than it cost!

I cannot believe Americans create such big fuzz about such a stupid thing. Why not ban for example ban Kazaa, the sex scenes you can download there are from another level than GTA …
